Roma was born in the town of Cowley in the Bighorn Basin, Wyoming. Born at home, she was the oldest of nine children, to Eva Leone Lewis Marchant and Charles Wright Marchant, on May 23, 1918. Roma's younger siblings include Laurine, Eva Lou (deceased), Mary Alice (deceased), Lewis (deceased), Kenneth, David, Richard and Ronald (deceased).

Roma is an accomplished pianist and organist beginning her LDS church calling at the age of 10 and concluding her service at the age of 90. She accompanied numerous choral groups including Stake and Regional Conference Choirs while playing the glorious pipe organs in the Ogden and Salt Lake LDS Tabernacles.

Roma was married to Julian Taggart Frost in Cowley, and they had four children: Jack Marchant, Julianne, Jeffrey Lewis and Jeanlee. Her grand- children include: Nathan Frost, Mikell Frost, Steven Frost, Christopher Frost, Kimberly Frost, Scott Welker, Brandon Welker, Julian Hemler (deceased), Jubal Frost, Jodi Frost, Ashlee Beaman (deceased) and Chas Beaman; and 10 great-grandchildren. Roma has also been "grandma" to numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Julian was killed in a tragic trucking accident in 1975.

Roma married Frank D. Walker in 1985, and they lived many happy years in Riverdale, Utah, until Frank's death in 2010.

Roma was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as a Taxpayer Assistant, retiring in 1980. She began traveling with her good friend, Cleone Hess, visiting, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Tahiti, Hawaii, and most of the United States. Roma especially enjoyed being at the ocean which gave her feelings of peace and contentment.

Roma lives at home, with the help of her daughter, Julianne, and enjoys crossword puzzles, Facebook, the Cowley website, and watching Lawrence Welk and Steve Harvey on Family Feud.

She continues to be a source of love, kindness, inspiration and knowledge to her children and grandchildren. She often tells stories of her childhood and still helps her daughters with family recipes. She says her most profound worldly experience was feeding the Japanese, Italian and German prisoners of war who worked on the family farm during World War II. Roma was honored at a family birthday celebration at her home and was visited by her grandchildren from Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, Austin. TX, San Francisco, CA, and her nephew from Heilbronn, Germany.
